Tri-Clamp
Tri-Clamp Connections – Safety and Hygiene in a Modular System
Tri-Clamp connections are quick-joint systems designed to ensure maximum hygiene, safety, and ease of maintenance in process plants. This type of fitting consists of three main components:
- Ferrule: A stainless steel component (typically AISI 316L) with flanged ends, welded to piping or equipment. Available according to various dimensional standards (ISO 2852, DIN 32676, BS 4825) to suit different industrial norms.
- Gasket: A sealing element placed between two ferrules, made from materials compatible with the product and operating conditions, such as EPDM, silicone, PTFE, or Viton. It ensures a hermetic seal, preventing leaks and contamination.
- Clamp: A mechanical device that joins the two ferrules by compressing the gasket to create a secure connection. Available in different configurations (single or double hinge, high-pressure) to meet specific operational needs.
This system allows for quick assembly and disassembly without the use of tools, facilitating cleaning, inspection, and maintenance operations—crucial in environments with high hygiene standards.
